Well if you follow the small amount of coverage being given….Hurricane Norbert will be arriving over the BAJA on Saturday and then after making landfall will be downgraded to a tropical storm and heading north east on a general heading towards EL PASO TEXAS. Now to be shamefully honest my knowledge of Mexican Geography is not the best… But if the size of the dots on the Google Map means anthing there are a couple of larger centers that could be in the path of Norbert after it arrives on Mexican soil… I hope the people are prepared….
Right now Odile can’t seem to decide where it wants to go as the projections show it running northbound along the coast… By the middle of next week it should be passing by the BAJA Peninsula who already got hit with Norbert earlier….Then where will it go…. The projections turn into “Best Guess” after that…
Now its way to early go start forcasting so lets just go with what limited data we have… Right now Odile is heading Northbound along the coast (Northwest)… If it continues Northwest then the California Coast is going to get wet… If it takes a jog to the NORTH or the NORTHEAST… Then there is a chance it will become news…
PLEASE REMEMBER I AM NOT A WEATHER FORCASTER AND THAT ALL I AM DOING IS GIVING YOU SOME BASIC UN SCIENTIFIC BACKGROUND INFORMATION SO YOU CAN DO FURTHER RESEARCH ON THE TOPIC SO YOU CAN DRAW YOUR OWN CONCLUSIONS. LIKE I SAID EARLIER THIS IS MOSTLY “BEST GUESS”. DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND MAKE YOUR PLANS ACCORDINGLY!!!
At this time I have no information on Emergency Frequencies or requests for clear frequencies in advance of either hurricane…. I know that from Ottawa I have no problems hearing spanish speaking stations (as I don’t speak spanish I’m not sure where they are from) on the lower end of 40m (7.040 and up) and in mixed areas on 20m for most of the daytime hours… Its a good place to start listening…
