Well this weekend is the Canadian Thanksgiving Long Weekend and the traditional end of Summer for us Canadian Types. All over the southern parts of Canada we will be closing cottages and winterizing trailers for winter will soon be upon us…
For Liz and myself our trailer in Cornwall will get the antifreeze treatment and the windows sealed on Sunday afternoon. The waste tanks were emptied earlier this week by a local mobile contractor and we are now able to antifreeze the system and get things packed up till the spring…
This gets us into the radio part of the blog…
Saturday we will be at home but I’m not sure how much radio time I will be getting as there will be something that we have forgotten for the Saturday Main event which would be the Thanksgiving Mega Feast… Due to a conflict at my daughters work we are having the big family meal on Saturday rathern than Sunday so she can eat with us… On Saturday I hope to be on 7.095 around 1000 EASTERN for the OVMRC 40M Pothole net. In the afternoon I will be installing the antennas on the Pickup in preparation for Sunday afternoons trip to Cornwall with the 20litres of Plumbing Antifreeze…
Sunday we will be leaving Ottawa (hopefully) before noon as it takes about 3 hours to get the work done at the trailer once we get there…That combined with a 1 hour drive there and 1 hour drive back and a couple of Timmies stops mean that it will be 6-7 hour trip so…The earlier we leave the earlier we get back… I will have the 80m hamstick on the truck for the trip down and back so try listening for VA3QV/m most likely close to 3.755…
The rest of the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) would be close to the following freqs… 3.755 and 3.730…
The Sunday am before the trip would most likely be 3,755 or 3.760 (Sunday 1000 EASTERN 80m Pothole net). Both Saturday evening and Sunday evening most likely 3.730 with the 3730 group at 2100 EASTERN…
But with this being a family weekend nothing outside of the Cornwall Trip and Saturdays dinner are “Carved in Stone”!
