If you are an Ontario Amateur (VA3/VE3) you have an excellent chance of really messing up some DXers in April and May and heres how…
From April 1 2009 to April 30 2009 VA3 stations can use the VB3 prefix to Celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Lakehead ARC. VE3 stactions can use the the VC3 prefix.
From April 1 2009 to May 31 2009 VA3 Stations can use the XL3 prefix to Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the St Lawrence Seaway. VE3 Stations can use the XM3 prefix.
So in the month of April I could be VA3QV, VB3QV and XL3QV… I think I will pass on the extras and just use VA3QV but I wonder how many will just confuse the heck out of people who are on DXpeditions just to make an extra contact.
I hope to be at my trailer which will most likely still be in Cornwall which is on the St Lawrence Seaway for the May long weekend May 16, 17 and 18 , so there is a chance of hearing XL3QV that weekend from Cornwall but the rest could be too confusing…
I was thinking earlier of doing something with the “Queen Victoria” suffix for the Victoria Day Long Weekend any way so :
