For those of you who live in the National Capital Area, the Greater Ottawa Area on in the City of Ottawa or its neighbors….
Here is some locally gathered information on what clubs and groups are doing for Field Day.

Ottawa Amateur Radio Club- The OARC runs their field day site from St Pauls University in Ottawa.
As stated on the club website the Field Day Station is behind the University by the river
They normally run a 2A station and have a good group of operators. Listen for their club call of VE3RC. Normally active on the HF Bands as well as 2m and 6m. Last Year when I was set up in Cornwall I managed a 6m contact with them. Every year they put together an excellent event and this year I see no reason for anything to change.

Manotick Amateur Radio Group/ 3730 Group – This year the 3730/Manotick Group will once again be set up at the Marina in Kars Ontario which is just south of Ottawa. Located at 1224 Comodore Drive.
Last year they were the holders of the highest score for 5A in Canada.
This is also the social event of the season with a catered Surf and Turf Supper along with a live band on Saturday evening.
Expect a good showing from the operators of the 3730 group with people planning to attend from Northern Ontario and Southern Ontario along with a good group of regulars from the Ottawa/Eastern Ontario area.

Ottawa Valley QRP Society- This is a small group of QRP Operators who will set up and operate from Bate Island for the time of their participation in Field Day.
If you follow Island Park Drive across the Bridge Bate Island is in the Middle of the River…
I am expecting a 2B or 3B station but at the time of writing they have not confirmed their status yet. I have joined them in the past and operated on the Saturday afternoon and had a blast. They mostly operate CW but they do welcome anyone who bring a microphone and wants to do voice. WX Permitting my Ft817 will most likely be there on the Saturday afternoon.

I am expecting to hear from the Ottawa Valley Mobile Radio Club who normally operate for this event. More info should be arriving shortly after their next Club Meeting which will be on Thursday June 18.
Thats as much local info as I have at this time…. I will be updating this post once I have more info for you so check back in a few days and there should be better updated info….
