Back to Normal, but then again Whats Normal?

It was a busy weekend…  As you know from my previous post I got out into the great outdoors on Saturday and played some radio…  If you follow my other blog  (Survivorham) and check the March Archive you will see that I also made it out on Sunday for a while…

Two days of outdoor radio with no bug bites or frostbite for that matter makes for a great weekend.

The Team Canada Gold Medal win in Hockey makes it an even sweeter way to finish up the weekend…

But back to Radioland for a while…

The FT 817 with the LDG QRP Auto tuner behaved itself quite nicely with the W3EDP on Saturday and the CN32 on Sunday.  I was very pleased with the performance of the QRP Gear both days…

Once I figure out how to tune and Set the taps on the CN32 it will even better and a very welcome addition to the antenna collection.

I am still in negotiations for that Buddistick thats for sale locally and I am no longer as confident as I was before on its arrival to the kit bag.  I want it but I can also wait till I get stateside and get one new for the Canadian Used Price…  I really believe that a Buddistick along with a W3EDP would make the best portable antenna system to go along with my FT 817.

I would like to use the CN32 on a Tripod with a 20 foot telescopic mast with the FT897 for the days that QRP might not cut it.

As mentioned in the past I have a portable station (FT 817) and a “Transportable Station” being the FT 897 and both stations have a place and a use depending on whats being done and for how long.

I then would have the choice of Carrying in the QRP station or Getting dropped off with the QRO station and in effect have the best of both worlds as both rigs are Yaesu…

Have a good start to the week and remember only 5 days left till the weekend…

Greetings! I have an Icom 706MKIIG with AT-180 Automatic Antenna Tuner connected to a Buddistick powered by a 750Ah marine battery.

This makes for a great & quick set-up portable/emergency kit.

Great Bob! I have VE2RM on most nights after 7PM and all weekends. And a 80m sked would be great after business hours.

Sidebar: I am a Director for VE2RM Inc. and our annual AGM is schedule for April 1st at the Dorval Yacht Club.
