The topic for today is…
In your opinion what was the most important event in 2010 as pertaining to Canadian Amateur Radio???

.
Was it the RAC Meetings in Ottawa at the end of October?

.
Was it something that ARES did?

.
Was it something that NTS did?

.
Was it a DXPedition?
.
Was it a SOTA Activation?
.
Was it an IOTA Activation?
.
Was it a Technical item?
.
Was it the fact that I hiked up the King Mountain Trail with a backpack full of radio gear and did not have chest pains??? and did not have to be carried down the trail after!!!
Really what was it? What do YOU feel is the biggest thing that happened (or will happen in the next two months) in the Canadian Amateur Radio?
The Canadian Amateur Radio Event of 2010
So think about it. What do YOU think was the “biggee” for 2010. The years not over yet. What do you think its been so far??
The most important Canadian Amateur Radio Event in 2010 (in your opinion) is ….???
Here’s how its going to work… Give me your suggestions (and you can suggest as many times as you like) as a comment to this posting.
Comments will be accepted until January 15th 2011 but the event must of started before 2359 hours UTC on December 31 2010.
This means if the event was a DXPediton then the first contact had to be made in 2010. Plain and Simple…
All suitable suggestion will be posted for all of us to debate from January 15 2011 to the February 1st 2011.
I have a feeling by then it should be easy to tell what was the winner was but it its still not clear then we will go to an email voting system and the winner will be posted.
The person who first submitted the winning event will get to be a “guest blogger” here and submit an article on the event that he felt was the 2010 Canadian Amateur Radio Event of the Year. They also get the associated “Bragging Rights” to go with such a prestigious victory.
NOTICE:
I reserve the right to delete/remove any item, comment etc that I feel is in poor taste or something that I would not want my grandaughter to read. I realize that some of you get passionate in your opinions but…. KEEP IT CLEAN!!!

I’d vote for the opening of the 2200m band early in the year. Amateur radio returns to the low frequency bands!
Sean – VA5LF (gee, wonder why I voted for this, eh?
