Before I start on the topic of the day…
If you have been trying to phone me… As mentioned earlier my cell phone is still MIA but presumed lost. With the snow of the last few days if it was lost in Doug’s yard we won’t find its remains till spring (if then) and if its not buried in the snow then its really hiding good and I can’t wait much longer…
I will be ordering a new phone in the next few days and should be back in communications with you soon (depending on availablility of the new toy (I mean Phone)… In the meantime please use email to reach me and I’ll call you back asap…
Now back to the topic of the day….
The RAC Canada Witner Contest is getting closer… So far the OVMRC and their efforts to operate from VE3JW are going fantastic. Only 3 daytime operting positions to fill on the Saturday afternoon (1 from 11-3 and 2 from 3-7) to go and then all is done.
.
Now we won’t be using the Trailer at the Lighthouse but the Lighthouse is on the Museum grounds…

We will be running in the multi-multi LP catagory with a FLEX 3000 operating with a 7 element triband beam on 10-15-20 and a TS 2000 operating on 40 and 80 using a trapped dipole. We have a ICOM DSTAR mobile radio set up for 2m Voice (DSTAR and FM) and the TS 2000 will handle the 2m SSB side of things.

Logging will be done with non-networked Laptops running the tried and true RAC Canada Day Software so all is taken care of… No doubt “Murphy” will be visiting us at some time during the contest but thats expected… It adds to the excitement…
Thanks to the museum management for allowing us to operate during “silent hours”…
