Today I managed to take a walk through my neighborhood and meet Don VA3GFD for our weekly coffee at the local Timmies. I missed last Thurdays due to the back injury and this weeks was extra special as I was able to make it there with no twinges in the back which signals to me that the recovery is well underway.
Once we finished the coffee he dropped me off at the local cycle shop that was fixing the flat tire. I got the scooter back and was able to ride it home with no twinges (again) … The bill for a tube replacement was a whopping $20.00…. Hard to imagine that the 9 days of discomfort came with a palty $20.00 price tag… OH WELL next time I’ll remember this time and just leave it on the side of the road and let the shop pick it up…
On the repeaters I am hearing people talking about the Smith Falls Hamfest and other talking about Dayton… I can’t really see me heading to Dayton but I am working on getting the Orlando event in February into the family travel plans. Its a lot easier to convince Liz that I want to take her to Florida in February than Ohio in May…
However as I have mentioned in the past with everyone heading to Dayton lots of great deals are to be found locally as many amateurs are selling their old toys to get extra cash to take to Dayton for new toys… Some of their old toys were still pretty nifty so…
My back is feeling better, I got the scooter back, the ham flea market scene is going strong and I am able to watch the NHL Playoffs on my deck… Makes for a good start to the summer season…

Good luck with the back issues, Bob, from one back pain sufferer to another.

Glad to read you’re on the mend Bob. The weather’s been too nice to be stuck inside the house feeling like crap!
