7.055 The Trans Provincal Net is making a comeback

Thursday afternoon found me spending an hour acting as the NCS for the Trans Provincal Net.  The Net runs daily from 0700 to 1900 EST with a different controller each hour.

I acted as NCS for the 1400- 1500 hr time slot and managed 10 stations checking in with what I would call excellent band conditions.  I had a mobile in Parry Sound Ontario, a mobile in Sault Ste Marie and a fixed station in New Brunswick all check in with fantastic signals.  In addition there were three stations from the Greater Ottawa Area along with a few from the Golden Horseshoe area  of Ontario and the GTA.

I am giving some thought to keeping this time slot on a Monday to Friday basis as the time frame normally works for my schedule.  Most Doctors apporintments for Liz and myself are finished in time for me to get back for the net and if we do anything in the evening I can start to get ready for things after my hour finishes at 1500.  This also give the net something to build with as VE3PSV is the controller from 1500 to 1600 and Rick VE3HVA finishes up the day from 1600 to 1700.  As we are starting things back up again after a very inactive time having 3 hours in a row with a controller would go along way to reminding people that the net has returned.

So if you have the time to spare why not pick up an hour and help renew the net.  The new net manager is Shawn VE3PSV and he can be reached at various times in the day on the TPN.

Hope to hear you on the air…
