Congrats go out to Russ VX9GHD / VE3FI for being being awarded a “Developmental Licence” for operations in the 5 meg (60m band)…
I quote the following from the QRZ.com page for VX9GHD:
As of April 2, I am the first in Canada to receive from Industry Canada authorization to use the new development license in the 5 meg band, VX9GHD. This license is good for one year and then is becomes the new band for Canada, I can immediately transmit to other CAnadian , American or British Isles amateurs that are allowed to use this band. Amateurs in Canada have been waiting for 3 years for this band to be opened up for development usage.
My other call sign is VE3FI
Looks like we have one year to wait before the band opens up to the rest of us…Hope the experiments go well…
