Repeater Sites and the CBC

I caught the following link off Twitter…

http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2012/2012-384.htm

Its basically describing that the CRTC is allowing CBC to shut down some Analog OTA sites that were running after the Switch to Digital happened earlier…

However I am bringing this to your attention as many Amateur Radio Clubs use CBC Towers for their repeaters,  If your repeater is co located with the CBC Towers that are shutting down and being sold (or might be being sold) then your ARC/Groups Repeater might/could be affected.

The link lists the sites that are going to be shut down by CBC.  I do not know what the CBC is going to do with the sites but if my repeater was on a site due to be shut down I might be thinking of a backup plan…

All we know from reading the notice from the CRTC is that on August 1st some transmitters that were operated by the CBC will be going off the air….  What the CBC does with the sites after is anyones guess…
