Even though I went all the way to Sand Point yesterday to operate from a Lighthouse….
There is a lighthouse almost in my backyard…

The Cape North (Museum) Lighthouse CA 0016 is located on the Grounds of the Canadian Science Museum here in Ottawa
Early this afternoon I dropped in for a visit and guest operated and I managed to get the Kenwood TS850 figured out (I like Yaesu) and make 2 contacts on 40m ssb and 2 contacts on 20m ssb without blowing the radio up… The OVMRC (Ottawa Valley Mobile Radio Club) had been operating with their club trailer from the lighthouse for the entire event and racked up quite an impressive log of contacts…

Looking into the sky I’m predicting Sound and Light this afternoon so… most likely those were the only 4 contacts I will be making for the rest of the day on HF…
