		<description><![CDATA[I did listen to RCI first in the winter of 1970 while I was in Germany and Austria - the October crisis was in progress at the time and being an SWL I always had a shortwave radio with me. The second time was when I was posted to CZ land in 1990; RCI as well as the BBC was an important source of stable and credible news from the other side of the Iron Curtain. Another Canadian icon bites the dust, a result of fiscal cutbacks and lack of foresight by bureaucrats.]]></description>
