It wasn’t aimed directly at you…. But since you mentioned it…. Your QRP Par antenna and the 703 would have a great time but then if I remember correctly you also use a screwdriiver antenna on your bike so when you pull over to take a break just make a few contacts from the bike…

Okay, okay, Bob, I get the message! This year, as of now, I’m making a resolution to get outside and QRPTTP with my IC-703. Hopefully, bicycle mobile to an isolated picnic table somewhere. Now, would you mind ordering up some warm, sunny, spring weather???

Have been experimenting myself with 33 feet Spiderpole and vertical wire, inverted V dipole, vertical Delta loops and horizontal grass-loop antenna set ups. Good evening Bob, yes the weather sure has had some up’s and downs. If it was not snowing it was pouring rain and then there was the wind! I have checked the long range forecast and it seems to be cooling down for the weekend…..but then again it’s long range so it can change!

But Bob, look at the bright side…the soggier the ground conditions, the better your ground plane will be! Who knows, it might amplify your QRP signal enough to get those rare DX you’ve been craving…

Good to hear you’re feeling better, Bob. I was starting to get concerned. I think I have the same “bug”. Worst cold I’ve ever had. I first noticed my raw throat on March 25 and 12 days later I’m still coughing, although the intensity has lessened considerably. While I have some sinus congestion and I’m half deaf in my right ear, there’s been very little sneezing and no fever. But my voice is still out of commission. Very odd. So, if you’re setting the example, I have another week or so to go with this ailment. However, I intend to be at Iroquois fleamarket doing my best to pass this bug onto others…
