		<description>HI Ron, Not sure what the prices will be but I figure it will have most of the toys, bells and whistles of the 9000 just less weight...

Cost is anyones guess however...

I have plugged Radioworld and Universal Radio enough in the past that perhaps one of them would care to enlighten us and send me an email I can post which would give them guest blogger status. If they want the offer stands...

I know that someone at Radioworld has read the blog so lets see if they still do...

		<description>Hi Ed &amp; Bob:
I just stumbled on this web site as I heard about the new FTDX5000MP!!!
Interestingly I have been looking at buying a FT-2000D and selling my faithful FT-1000D which I have owned since it was new back in 1992.
Now what should I do, hold out for the FTDX5000MP, which I doubt I can afford, or stay on course with the &#039;old faithful&quot;???

		<description>Hi Ed... If my XYL is reading this...What new/next rig!!!!! But honestly right now the used price of a FT 1000 is in the same ballpark as a new FT 950. I know two guys running FT9000 and they sold their FT2000s to do it. For the pure &quot;OH WOW&quot; factor I would like a FT 2000 or a FT950 depending on the deal of either rig used.

To be honest no matter what I use here with my minimum antenna space will be a waste of radio but you do the best you can with what you have,,,

I hope to pick up a FT450 this summer to use alongside my FT 897 for my &quot;Transportable Station&quot; and if I like the recvr in the 450 then look at a FT950 new or FT 2000 used to sit beside the FT 847 at home ... depending on the deals at the time....&#039;

But if Liz is reading this....only dreaming....

		<description>Hey Bob. This one caught me off-guard too. Kind of makes you wonder how much of a gap can there be between the 2000 and the 9000 in terms of performance? We all know about the $7000 gap, right? So maybe this will be to split the difference?

If you&#039;re really in the market for another Yaesu, you might consider a used FT-1000 or FT-1000MP. Those are great radios, affordable, yet hold their value well. I have a 1000MP and I love having the second receiver for chasing DX. Just a thought.
